Financial Planning and Analysis Role

JAB Recruitment is seeking a Financial Planning and Analysis professional to join our client's team in the Energy Equipment Segment. This is a 12-month contract position based between the Forfar and Montrose offices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with financial planning and analysis tasks for two ledgers (UK and Baku) across various departments.
  • Support the local management team with reporting, analysis, and presentations on actual, forecast, and planned numbers.
  • Review ongoing projects for the relevant business units, ensuring timely and accurate revenue and cost recognition.
  • Assist in completing and reviewing monthly P&L and management reports and in preparing variance analysis for the FP&A Manager.
  • Prepare labour recovery reconciliations for several business units and assist the FP&A Manager with their review.
  • Review aged WIP and provide commentary to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner, feeding this into the accounting team for SOX compliance.
  • Review and reconcile relevant contract assets and liabilities sections, including aging monitoring and commentary.
  • Conduct monthly working capital analysis and provide commentary.
  • Assist with monthly forecast and annual financial plan preparation.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Accountancy or Finance or equivalent.
  • Professional accountancy qualification such as CIMA / ACCA.
  • Experience as a business partner working with non-financial management.
  • 3+ years of experience working in a financial/accounting environment within a larger entity.
  • Experience with POC accounting methods.
  • Experience working with Oracle and Glovia ERP systems.
Skills and Training:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent Excel skills.
