A new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team at The Sterling Choice in the Port Talbot area.
We are seeking a skilled professional with a strong background in mechanical maintenance, pneumatics, and hydraulics to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working in a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment and be comfortable with reactive and preventative maintenance.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment, including conveyors, pumps, belts, and motors. They will also be expected to work collaboratively with the production team to ensure smooth operations and minimize downtime.
We offer a competitive salary of £45,000-£49,000 depending on experience, as well as a range of benefits and opportunities for career advancement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair mechanical equipment, including conveyors, pumps, belts, and motors
- Work collaboratively with the production team to ensure smooth operations and minimize downtime
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and lubricating equipment
- Identify and report any equipment issues or defects
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure optimal equipment performance
Requirements:
- Relevant NVQ Level 3 in Engineering
- Experience working in a mechanical maintenance role in a FMCG manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics
- Ability to work collaboratively with the production team
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
