We are seeking a skilled Plate Saw Operative/Forklift Driver to join our client on a temporary to permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all products are handled, cut, and identified in accordance with our client's working practices and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To ensure all products are handled and cut in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to customer requirements and relevant health and safety regulations.
  • To accurately set, cut, and identify materials, maximizing stock utilization and minimizing waste.
  • To maintain and accurately record all details on the computer-based stock control system and supporting documentation.
  • To promote continuous improvement processes to maximize stock productivity and minimize waste in all operational processes.
  • To maintain and promote safe working practices and policies while engaged in daily activities.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of raw materials and products handled by the site.
  • Ability to read and understand cutting patterns to maximize stock utilization and minimize waste.
  • Programming knowledge for machine setup, preparation, and cutting.
  • Understanding of materials handling for processed products in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Self-motivated, reliant, diligent, analytical, and numerate.
  • PC literate.
  • Current valid counterbalance mechanical handling license.
  • Ability to be trained and understand being a business-approved stamp holder.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Understanding of health and safety at work legislation and its practical application.
  • Understanding of quality processes applicable to material handling.
  • Machine maintenance skills applicable to the type of equipment operated.
