Mechanical and Electrical Commissioning Engineer

We are seeking a Commissioning Engineer to become a vital part of our utilities division at Kier, specifically within the Natural Resources sector. This position offers a hybrid working model, allowing flexibility between home, office, and various project sites.
Position Type: Permanent, Full Time – with options for flexible and part-time hours available upon request.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Commissioning Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our Wastewater Asset Assurance Programme (WAAP). Your collaboration with the project team will ensure that all MEICA and process commissioning tasks are meticulously planned and executed according to established standards and in alignment with the accepted commissioning strategy and inspection and test plans (ITPs).
Your daily tasks will include:
- Ensuring that all commissioning documentation is consistently updated and accessible in the Common Data Environment, demonstrating compliance with testing requirements, including FAT, SAT, outage management plans, and ITPs.
- Creating a tailored Design Commissioning Plan that aligns with the actual project execution in partnership with the Client's commissioning representatives.
- Reviewing and approving project ITPs, ensuring their management through Kier's common data environment.
- Collaborating with the onsite supply chain to troubleshoot and resolve issues as necessary, ensuring that all activities are conducted safely and in accordance with the project timeline.
- Leading the reliability and performance testing phases of the project, including generating and accepting a report that highlights adherence to the Client's objectives.
Qualifications:
This role is ideal for candidates who possess:
- Experience in a similar commissioning position within Mechanical and Electrical systems in the Water Industry.
- BEng/ONC/HNC/BTEC qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Strong judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
- A solid understanding of sewage and water treatment processes, systems, and typical M&E plant/equipment.
