Key Responsibilities

  1. Work in accordance with Departmental Policy, Standard Operating Procedures, and Quality Management System.
  2. Reprocess reusable medical devices under supervision, including disassembly, cleaning, disinfection, checking, assembly, sterilization, despatch, and tracking in a controlled environment.
  3. Meet the demands of the department's workload while consistently achieving high-quality standards, measured by in-process checks and non-conformance reports.
  4. Use manual dexterity and concentration for the disassembly and reassembly of reusable medical devices according to manufacturers' instructions.
  5. Operate decontamination equipment (washer disinfectors and sterilizers) and carry out routine tests in accordance with the Planned Preventative Maintenance Schedule, Quality Standards, and Guidance.
  6. Communicate with enquiries from users in a polite and helpful manner, seeking advice when required.
  7. Receive tray orders from service users, assemble orders into theatre case carts, and deliver to theatres in a timely manner to ensure the theatre list can commence as scheduled.
  8. Deliver urgent products to Theatres/Departments as necessary.
  9. Participate in rostered Bank Holiday work and cover shifts as necessary for the provision of the service.
