Role Summary:
The Senior Quantity Surveyor / Estimator will be integral to the financial oversight of various projects, ensuring that all monetary aspects are meticulously managed. This position offers the chance to engage with clients from the construction sector, pursue new business opportunities, and provide comprehensive pricing strategies. Collaboration with project management and estimating teams will be essential to deliver precise cost assessments, oversee budgets, and optimize profitability.
Primary Duties:
- Develop and present comprehensive cost estimates and financial plans for painting and decorating initiatives.
- Perform in-depth cost evaluations to maintain competitive pricing and ensure project profitability.
- Track project advancement and financial outcomes, proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Engage with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to negotiate contract terms and pricing, while actively seeking new business prospects.
- Review and analyze contract documents to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Prepare and submit interim valuations and final financial accounts.
- Support the procurement process, including the selection and engagement of subcontractors and suppliers.
- Deliver regular financial updates and reports to senior management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the painting and decorating sector.
- In-depth understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and cost analysis.
- Exceptional numerical and analytical capabilities.
- Familiarity with industry-specific software and tools.
- Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
- Capacity to work autonomously as well as collaboratively.
- Willingness to travel to various project sites as necessary.
