Sustainability Project Lead – Midlands Region

The Highfield Company is collaborating with a premier construction firm renowned for its impressive portfolio of landmark projects across the UK.

We are seeking a Sustainability Project Lead to manage our initiatives in the Midlands, specifically in urban redevelopment and infrastructure enhancement projects.

The Sustainability Project Lead will play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of exemplary environmental stewardship and high standards across various assignments. These projects typically involve urban renewal efforts or infrastructure upgrades with budgets ranging from £2m to £10m throughout the Midlands area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and uphold systems to assess and ensure adherence to BS EN ISO 14001 and other organizational standards.
  • Oversee and manage environmental monitoring tools, gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data related to water, air quality, noise, and waste management.
  • Conduct on-site environmental assessments, identifying both commendable practices and areas for improvement to communicate to relevant teams and upper management.
  • Guarantee the effective implementation and operation of the Project Environmental Management System through regular audits and evaluations.

Candidate Profile:

  • Extensive experience with a consulting engineering firm, civil engineering contractor, or a specialized environmental service provider.
  • Comprehensive understanding of environmental design principles and their implications for third-party stakeholders.
  • Active member of IEMA, with aspirations towards achieving chartered status.
