Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is a leading recruitment agency that specializes in placing top talent in various industries. Our client is a regional retail organization with a head office in the UK, seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join their team.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Management Accountant to lead a small operational finance team for a division of this regional retail organization. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring a consistent and robust finance offering is available to the wider business. This includes:

  • Producing management accounts, including variance analysis, gap analysis, and commentary
  • Delivering annual processes and budgets, utilizing the support of the operational team
  • Attending monthly reviews, presenting, and influencing stakeholders to take advantage of market opportunities
  • Developing and implementing process improvements and automation
  • Participating in financial appraisal processes to identify suitable investment opportunities

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in a Management Accountant role, with a relevant qualification
  • Team management experience and exposure to taxation (desirable but not essential)
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to see opportunities
