About the Role

We are seeking an ambitious and proactive Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our vibrant and supportive team at Brandon James Ltd in Birmingham. As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be part of a dynamic project and cost management consultancy that delivers high-profile projects across various sectors, including Industrial, Residential, Student Accommodation, Hotels, Leisure, and Retail.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a UK cost consultancy, with a strong understanding of quantity surveying principles and practices. You will be confident, proactive, and eager to work towards achieving Chartership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of tender documents, including bills of quantities and schedules of rates
  • Conduct site inspections and monitor progress against project schedules
  • Collaborate with senior surveyors to develop and implement cost management strategies
  • Provide support to clients in the negotiation of contracts and the resolution of disputes
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues
