Job Summary

McGregor Boyall Associates is seeking a highly skilled Database Infrastructure Specialist to join our team on a 6-month contract. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting with on-prem database upgrades and providing support to existing databases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement solutions using a service-based and serverless architecture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless delivery of database infrastructure projects.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Perform data replication and high-availability technology to ensure business continuity.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues using cloud-based monitoring tools.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest database technologies and trends to ensure our solutions are innovative and effective.

Requirements

  • Experience with technology including:
    • Mongo DB
    • Postgres
    • AWS IAM, S3, EC2, RDS
    • Ansible
    • Typescript
    • CDK and AWS dev tools such as Cloud Formation
    • SQL
    • Monitoring solutions such as CloudWatch, Grafana
  • Strong understanding of agile delivery models such as Scrum and Kanban.
  • Experience with cloud database monitoring, telemetry, intelligence tools and processes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Informix, Oracle, Typescript, OpenSearch, Serverless (Lambda)
