We are seeking an experienced Fabricator Welder to join our in-house team at our Sandown factory in Aldridge. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our plant and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out modifications to equipment to improve safety and efficiency
- Perform welding and repair tasks using appropriate equipment
- Define materials and consumable requirements for work plans
- Repair and install guarding to meet safety standards
- Assist the maintenance department as required
- Participate in the PIP process and support 5Ss and visual management techniques
- Conduct dynamic risk assessments before tasks are carried out
- Ensure production and maintenance staff are aware of work being carried out and take necessary precautions
- Maintain a safe and tidy work area
- Report back on completed jobs or difficulties encountered
- Experience as a fabricator/welder in a manufacturing/factory environment
- Strong commitment to safe working practices and health and safety best practice
- Ability to work in a busy environment with changing priorities
- Flexibility and lateral thinking approach to problem-solving
- Experience with MIG and oxyacetylene welding
- Experience with handheld power tools, including angle grinders
