Your Role: As a key member of the Corporate Affairs team, you will report directly to the Director of Communications & Commercial Marketing. Your primary responsibility will be to manage essential corporate and trade media relations for News UK and its various business segments, including Times Media, News Broadcasting, and The Sun. Collaborating with diverse stakeholders, you will play a crucial role in articulating the narrative of one of the UK's foremost and most progressive media organizations.

You will cultivate and maintain media relationships with influential contacts across various business media platforms, focusing on core corporate functions such as marketing, broadcasting, commercial operations, publishing, retail, and technology. Additionally, you will create and disseminate communications through owned corporate channels, including newsletters, the corporate website, LinkedIn, and Twitter, while working closely with trade marketing to implement strategic initiatives. You will also assist the EVP, Director of Corporate Affairs, with project management and issues handling as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute proactive B2B media relations strategies tailored to the needs of stakeholders across News UK. Collaborate with the Communications Director and Heads of Communications for Times Media and The Sun to formulate and implement the corporate and B2B communications strategy for each division. Manage the press office for internal clients while identifying opportunities to highlight success stories at industry events and award ceremonies. Partner with the Head of Trade Marketing and external PR agencies to ensure all B2B and commercial communications are cohesive and aligned. Work alongside the Senior Internal Communications Manager to ensure consistent storytelling for clients and support the We are News employer brand externally. Address issues management as they arise and provide support to the EVP, Director of Corporate Affairs as needed. Ensure the corporate website effectively showcases B2B success stories and develops thought leadership content. Collaborate with a Communications Executive to optimize the use of professional networks such as LinkedIn and Twitter. Produce and enhance weekly commercial newsletters and other impactful tools, videos, and events to engage target audiences. Monitor the effectiveness of B2B communications and report on performance against established KPIs.

Qualifications:

A strong passion for media, news, and current affairs. A proven track record of five or more years in delivering high-profile corporate communications and B2B media relations, preferably within a Technology, Media, or Telecoms context. Exceptional attention to detail, along with first-rate organizational and planning abilities, including experience managing multiple clients and campaigns. Creative thinking and a commitment to being a strategic partner to clients. The ability to quickly establish effective networks and influence senior stakeholders and external media. Experience working in fast-paced press office environments and prioritizing tasks effectively. Skills in issues management, award submissions, and preparing briefings for industry events. A proactive mindset with a desire to ask questions, refine processes, and drive successful outcomes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Understanding that some work outside of standard hours may be necessary in a dynamic media environment.
