About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Actuary to join our team at Oldbury Search & Selection Ltd. As a Commercial Life Insurance Actuary, you will play a key role in collaborating with our global teams to identify and monitor portfolio risks in the UK, Ireland, and MEA markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform deep dive investigations to understand the drivers of performance and propose relevant actions.
  • Use data analytics and visualizations to communicate portfolio performance and highlight areas of concern.
  • Collaborate with teams to identify and monitor portfolio risks.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and improve portfolio performance.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and implementation of risk management plans.

Requirements:

  • A part qualified or newly qualified Actuary with an inquisitive, pragmatic, and commercial nature.
  • Working experience of around 5 years in the insurance/reinsurance market.
  • Good understanding of various valuation methods, including IFRS17.
  • Strong financial acumen, ability to interpret financial results, and formulate tangible actions.
  • Analytical mindset with a passion for leveraging data and technology to steer business decisions.
  • Experience with coding and data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI) would be an asset.
  • An independent and critical thinker with good negotiation skills and an ability to constructively challenge.
  • Excellent at networking, ability to engage and build positive relationships with various internal and external partners.
