Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Ward catering team, ensuring adequate staffing for all shifts and communicating any necessary adjustments with the Client Services Manager.
  • Maintain the quality of the catering service in accordance with established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Assist in the preparation and serving of meals for patients, visitors, and staff, ensuring adherence to company standards and client satisfaction.
  • Monitor and manage high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Support the Client Service Manager in the recruitment process.
  • Collaborate with the line manager to conduct appraisals, train, develop, reward, and recognize team achievements.
  • Comply with all relevant legislation, client requirements, and company policies in catering service delivery.
  • Ensure adherence to company purchasing policies.
  • Assist with the ordering, receiving, checking, and storing of deliveries as needed.
  • Uphold high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in food preparation and service areas, paying close attention to Health and Safety regulations.
  • Participate in stocktaking and ensure the security of storage areas during working hours.
  • Safeguard all provisions, equipment, and utensils at all times.
  • Assist with weekly accounting in line with company policies.
  • Organize regular meetings with Sodexo staff.
  • Complete all required audit and quality standards documentation.
  • Provide general support throughout the catering department as necessary.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proven experience in leading and developing a team.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Competent literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Understanding and adherence to legislation at all times.
  • Capability to comprehend detailed instructions.
  • Food hygiene certification level 2 or higher is preferred, but we welcome all applicants.
