Commissioning Engineer - Water Infrastructure

Job Summary:

Ganymede Solutions is seeking a skilled Commissioning Engineer to join our team on the AMP 8 Severn Trent Water frameworks. As a Commissioning Engineer, you will play a critical role in the successful delivery of water treatment and infrastructure projects, ensuring all systems and components are installed and tested according to operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and execute commissioning activities on AMP 8 Severn Trent Water projects, covering water and wastewater treatment plants.
  • Liaise with design and construction teams to ensure smooth project transitions from installation to commissioning.
  • Develop detailed commissioning plans, method statements, and risk assessments in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct site inspections, performance testing, and system verifications, ensuring all equipment operates to specification.
  • Lead fault-finding, troubleshooting, and rectification activities as part of the commissioning process.
  • Work with clients and stakeholders to ensure systems are operational and ready for handover.
  • Ensure that all health, safety, and environmental standards are met during commissioning.
  • Document and provide clear reports on commissioning progress, results, and lessons learned.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Commissioning Engineer within the water or utilities sector, ideally with a Tier 1 main contractor.
  • In-depth understanding of water treatment processes, mechanical and electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering, or equivalent qualification. Relevant commissioning certifications are an advantage.
  • Familiarity with Severn Trent Water's standards, DSEAR, CDM regulations, and relevant water industry standards.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with project teams, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Comprehensive understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
