Join Our Team as a Grant Specialist

The Defender Association of Philadelphia is seeking a highly skilled Grant Specialist to support our mission and oversee all aspects of grant management. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for handling the full cycle of grant management, from research and proposal development to submission and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough research on funding sources and opportunities in the areas of criminal justice reform, youth justice, community education, and child advocacy
  • Develop and write compelling grant proposals that align with our organization's goals and objectives
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and potential funders, including government agencies, foundations, and corporate partners
  • Work closely with our executive and management team to prioritize funding needs and develop strategic grant proposals
  • Manage and track grant submissions, reports, and other related documents
Requirements:
  • Minimum of three years of experience in grant writing, research, submission, and management
  • Strong knowledge of the non-profit fundraising landscape and eGrants or JustGrants systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Exemplary writing and research skills, with the ability to produce high-quality grant proposals and reports
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and organizational skills
