About the Role

TalentSpa Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Attend design handover meetings to ensure seamless project execution.
  2. Participate in design kick-off meetings with clients to understand their requirements.
  3. Design and develop machine components using SolidWorks, adhering to budget constraints.
  4. Organize and attend design reviews, both internal and external, to ensure design quality.
  5. Update designs based on review feedback.
  6. Conduct design risk assessments and create safety documentation.
  7. Create detailed 2D drawings for manufacturing and assembly purposes.
  8. Attend controls and software handover meetings to ensure smooth project completion.
  9. Support build teams with design-related issues.
  10. Develop alternative solutions during the machine development phase.
  11. Prepare operation and maintenance manuals, as well as CE-related documentation.
  12. Design and implement vacuum or mechanical grippers for transfer/handling applications.
  13. Ensure machine guarding and operator safety, utilizing light curtains and safety interlocks.

Requirements

  1. Strong understanding of GD&T in custom machined parts and fabrications.
  2. Ability to estimate costs of 'off the shelf' components to maintain design budgets.
  3. Experience with design risk assessment and FMEA.
