About the Role

BAM Nuttall is seeking an experienced Section Engineer to join our Scotland team, working on a range of projects within the renewable energy sector. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of our projects, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set a high personal example of safety and environmental behaviour, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Communicate effectively with foremen and gangers to ensure full understanding of project information.
  • Confirm in writing any verbal instructions received from clients, designers, or RE's staff, and maintain comprehensive records of resources employed on additional works.
  • Arrange formal checking of setting out and ensure check request forms are completed.
  • Ensure reasonable survey book standards and daily diaries are maintained by engineers.
  • Complete inspection and test plans, and digitally record results.
  • Prepare 4-weekly programmes in conjunction with the section foreman, and monitor progress for review at weekly site review meetings.
  • Prepare written risk assessments and method statements for the control of works.
  • Keep a full and accurate daily site diary, and ensure all delivery tickets are cost-coded and passed to the finance team for processing.
  • Supervise chainperson, assistant, and site engineers, and monitor work to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Advise engineers on setting out methods and techniques, and ensure that 3D information drawings and specification documents contain sufficient, accurate information for construction of the works.
Requirements
  • Degree, HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent NVQ Level.
  • CSCS Level - Academically or Professionally Qualified Person/Supervisory/Manager.
  • SSSTS.
