Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £39,000 - £40,000 per annum

Location: Kettering, Northamptonshire

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00. One Saturday per month will be compensated at an overtime rate, with the following Friday designated as a day in lieu.

Annual Leave: 22 days of holiday plus 8 bank holidays

Position Overview:

We seek a proactive maintenance engineer with a solid background in manufacturing. This role will primarily involve reactive maintenance, supplemented by some pre-planned maintenance tasks. You will be responsible for supporting approximately 30 production units, including extruders, printers, and converters.

The ideal candidate will have a mechanical bias, although some electrical knowledge would be advantageous, as the role will be predominantly mechanical (80%).

The successful applicant must thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, service, and repair all machinery to minimize production downtime.
  • Interpret mechanical and electrical schematics: A critical skill for this position is the ability to understand and work with technical drawings.
  • Provide technical assistance on all projects, installations, and breakdowns.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance engineering, with a focus on mechanical systems and some electrical knowledge.
