Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Welder - Fabrication and Assembly Specialist to join our team at ion-tec Ltd. As a key member of our manufacturing department, you will be responsible for fabricating and assembling components using manual TIG Welding, operating semi-automated Circumferential and Longitudinal Welding machines, and following strict guidelines covering safety, quality, and work instructions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on semi-automated welding equipment for both Circumferential and Longitudinal welds.
  • Conduct weld inspection operations to customer drawings.
  • Conduct TIG welding as and when required.
  • Conduct weld repairs as and when required.
  • Ensure products are to the correct tolerances and meet customer as well as internal standards and specifications (NADCAP and AS9100 standards).
  • Interpret drawings.
  • Work meticulously to work instructions and procedures.

Requirements:

  • NVQ/qualification in Engineering discipline - Desirable
  • Proven track record in welding - Essential
  • Aerospace experience – Desirable
  • Experience with semi-automated Welding - Desirable
  • Basic understanding of lean principles (5S) - Essential
  • Experience of working to production targets - Essential

Working Hours:

37-hour Days/Afters and rotating shifts, including:

  • 06:00 to 13:45 – Monday to Thursday
  • 06:00 to 12:00 – Friday
  • 13:30 to 21:15 – Monday to Thursday
  • 11:45 to 17:45 - Friday
