Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the cost-efficient acquisition of materials, goods, and services to meet business needs.
  • Ensure that assigned suppliers meet performance metrics as per agreed KPIs.
  • Utilize MRP reports and manual requisitions for sourcing and placing orders for both contract and non-contract items.
  • Maintain supplier information within the MRP system and conduct regular reviews of supplier performance.
  • Monitor supplier effectiveness and initiate improvement programs as necessary.
  • Support Production Control in facilitating workflow through the manufacturing process.

Qualifications:

  • A qualification in Purchasing (CIPS) is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience with MRP/ERP/SAP systems, demonstrating proficiency in placing and reviewing Purchase Orders and updating supplier or customer data.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred, with a background in marine manufacturing being advantageous.
  • Strong mathematical and English language skills, ideally with GCSEs at grade 5 or above or equivalent.
  • Exhibit a professional and entrepreneurial approach to procurement.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and reliability in work habits.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and meet multiple project deadlines.

Working Conditions: The role operates Monday to Friday, with comprehensive training provided. Benefits include 23 days of holiday, an annual bonus, Bupa Healthcare, a contributory pension scheme, and ample free parking. Due to the nature of the role, personal transportation is required.
