Position: International GCSE German Examiner

Reference Code: Ex/iGCSE/Ger/2017spec

An International GCSE German Examiner will evaluate candidates' submissions in line with the established marking criteria, while following the necessary examination protocols. Most evaluations will be conducted digitally using ePEN, allowing for remote work. However, some subjects may still require traditional marking methods, utilizing paper scripts delivered by post. A comprehensive understanding of the subject matter is essential for effectively applying the marking criteria. Each examiner will be assigned a specific number of scripts to assess.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and consistent marking to uphold overall quality standards.
  • Provide sample assessments to your Team Leader at scheduled intervals.
  • Adhere to established timelines for marking tasks.
  • Complete all required administrative duties as specified.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • A minimum of one academic year of teaching experience is required:
    • a. within the last eight years
    • b. in the relevant subject area
  • A degree or equivalent qualification is necessary.

Essential Competencies:

  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure.
  • Capability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Extensive subject knowledge to accurately apply the marking criteria.

Additional Information:

  • The marking period typically spans several months.
  • Training for examiners will be conducted prior to the marking period.
