Job Title: Head of Year

U-Educate is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Year to join our team at a secondary school in Birmingham. As a key member of the school leadership team, you will be responsible for leading and managing a year group, ensuring the academic and personal success of students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set high expectations and motivate students to achieve their full potential in a productive learning environment.
  • Demonstrate excellent subject and curriculum knowledge to inform teaching and learning.
  • Fulfill wider professional responsibilities with high standards of personal and professional conduct.
  • Develop and lead on relevant intervention strategies to support student progress.
  • Ensure high standards of attendance, punctuality, rewards, behavior, and uniform among students.
  • Lead on guidance information and events to support students as they progress through the school.
  • Develop, lead, and monitor the delivery of a high-quality pastoral program, consistent with whole-school policies and ethos.
Requirements:
  • Ability to pass an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to work with children.
  • Relevant experience across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding Training (candidates can undertake a free course with U-Educate if they do not have a current certificate).
