Job Summary
Chiltern Wood School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate teaching assistant to join our complex secondary team. Our school provides a therapeutic approach to education, supporting students with severe and complex learning needs, including autism. As a teaching assistant, you will work closely with experienced staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. You will be responsible for supporting students with their educational and social development, promoting their wellbeing and emotional needs. Previous experience is not essential, as full training will be provided. However, experience of a play-based approach would be beneficial. Training opportunities may include communication skills, low arousal approaches, and occupational therapy basics. Chiltern Wood School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its pupils and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to full vetting checks, including a disclosure of criminal records at an enhanced level, online searches, and satisfactory references.
