Credit Controller

A leading company in the Chelmsford area is seeking a skilled Credit Controller to join their team on a full-time 6-9 month fixed-term contract. This role offers a competitive salary of £26,000 - £28,000 per annum, depending on experience, and a hybrid working arrangement with 2 days in the office and 3 days from home after a successful induction.
Key Responsibilities:- Chase outstanding monies and maintain accurate records
- Produce weekly and monthly reports on aged debt and cash flow
- Collaborate with the Credit Control team to ensure effective credit management
- Take ownership of debtor's ledger and ensure compliance with company procedures
- Resolve day-to-day credit control issues and problem accounts
- Monitor and manage the credit control inbox and respond to customer inquiries
- Deal with multi-currency accounts and run separate reports and forecasts
- Keep up to date with ledger issues and provide regular updates to the team
- Credit check new customers and set limits and terms in accordance with company approval processes
- Send out legal letters and communicate with customers in a professional manner
- Regularly review and propose customer trading trends and credit limits
- Liaise with the Purchase ledger team to ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions
- Provide anticipated receipts analysis to assist with cash flow planning
- Responsible for documenting and maintaining accurate records of all credit control processes
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with credit management software
- Accountancy AAT qualification desirable
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
