Mental Health Support Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Criminology Graduate to join our team at Academics Ltd as a Mental Health Support Assistant. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with vulnerable children who have been exposed to trauma and adverse childhood experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to students, helping them to prepare learning materials and check on their welfare.
  • Assist in increasing independent living skills and promoting engagement, attainment, and life chances of the children.
  • Build strong relationships with students, identifying their needs and risks, and ensuring they meet set milestones.

About the Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent Graduate or someone with previous experience working with children. As a Mental Health Support Assistant, you will gain essential experience needed to train as an Educational Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Behaviour Therapist, or Speech and Language Therapist in the near future.

The role involves working Monday to Friday, 8:30am until 3:30pm each day. We are looking for a Criminology Graduate who can start as soon as possible.

Requirements:

  • Graduate degree in Criminology or a related field.
  • Experience working with children, preferably in a mental health setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
