About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Manager to join our team at Parkside. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in providing financial leadership and guidance to support the growth and success of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Support the Business Controller in providing accurate and timely financial reporting to our head office, ensuring compliance with corporate deadlines.
  • Accounting and Financial Analysis: Undertake the accounting for the UK and Irish branch, including preparation of monthly accounts, flash reports, and reporting into the Company's financial reporting system, Hyperion.
  • Financial Systems and Processes: Monitor the costing systems, activities, and transactions in the Company ERP system, SAP, to ensure accurate operation. Develop and manage financial systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Maintain relationships with the business (Operations and Sales) and supervise and develop 6 direct reports and 5 indirect reports.
  • Payroll and Tax Compliance: Prepare, check, and submit payroll to external processing companies. Ensure compliance with VAT returns, CIS, and Corporation tax requirements.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Prepare information for the budgeting process and forecast updates as required, developing new models and reporting as needed.
  • Year-End Closing and Internal Audit: Lead on internal audit requests and submissions, ensuring compliance with Group accounting and compliance policies.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Identify and highlight areas of non-performance or profit opportunities. Conduct margin analysis by product, project, job, profit centre, etc., and take corrective actions.
  • General Administration: Perform general administration and office management tasks, including ordering supplies, assisting with vehicle-related queries, and building upkeep.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Part-qualified ACCA/CIMA or qualified by experience.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced working knowledge of Excel and SAP.
  • Personal Qualities: High level of commitment, self-motivation, and personal integrity. Ability to communicate confidently with junior and senior finance and operational colleagues.
  • Experience: Construction industry experience preferred.
