About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Apprentice Engineer - Data Centre Specialist, where you will play a key role in supporting the maintenance and upkeep of our data centre infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation of best practice and industry-leading methodologies to ensure rigorous and effective maintenance regimens are performed and maintained.
  • Provide data reporting to the Facilities Manager, ensuring accurate and timely information is available to inform decision-making.
  • Conduct proactive risk assessments and report any potential threats to service delivery, ensuring the continuity of our data centre operations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Facilities team, driving productivity and quality enhancements.
  • Collaborate with the Security team to maintain and administer access control requests, ensuring seamless access to our data centre facilities.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams across the company to promote and deliver high-quality data centre services.
  • Liaise with Change, Architecture, Professional Services, and DC Facilities teams to ensure successful data centre infrastructure changes.
  • Develop relationships with suppliers to stay up-to-date on the latest M+E technology advancements and plant and equipment knowledge.
  • Participate in the On-Call rota to provide support for the data centre infrastructure outside of regular working hours.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable detailed knowledge of CRAC Units, Chilled Water Systems, and Chillers.
  • Experience with UPS Frames & Generator systems.
  • Understanding of PPM & BMS systems.
  • Proven skills in Fault Diagnosis and IST delivery.
  • A motivated team player with excellent customer-facing skills to deliver exceptional service levels.
  • Flexibility in working hours.
  • Full UK Driving License.
