As the UK's communications regulator, Ofcom is committed to fostering an inclusive environment that reflects the diverse society we serve. Our mission encompasses a wide range of communication sectors, including telecommunication, broadcasting, and digital media, ensuring that everyone can stay connected.
We believe that a diverse workforce is essential to achieving our objectives, and we are dedicated to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion (ED&I) across all levels of our organization.
The People & Culture (P&C) team plays a crucial role in supporting the organization strategically, ensuring that we have the necessary capabilities and practices in place to meet our goals while driving transformation and cultural change.
This position reports directly to the Director of People & Culture and is a key member of the P&C leadership team, responsible for spearheading ED&I initiatives.
As the Head of ED&I, you will ensure that Ofcom's practices as an employer actively promote and celebrate diversity and inclusion.
You will be accountable for the design, planning, budgeting, and resource allocation for ED&I activities, ensuring successful implementation of our strategy.
Your role will involve creating and executing initiatives that exceed legal requirements, striving for best practices to position Ofcom as an employer of choice.
You will stay informed about relevant legislation and educate others within the organization on these matters, while also embedding our social model of disability.
Coaching and Development:

Data Analysis and Reporting:
Collaborate with the People Data Insights team to deliver regular updates and reports, ensuring clarity and accessibility of data.
Your leadership will involve supporting colleague networks, championing their initiatives, and offering expertise and mentorship.

You will bring innovative perspectives to enhance ED&I processes and policies, with a focus on long-term goals while addressing immediate actions.
Our aim is to reflect the rich diversity of backgrounds, experiences, and thoughts that exist across the UK in our workforce.
We are committed to recruiting from a broad candidate pool, valuing diversity in social background, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, and disability.
For full-time positions, we are open to flexible working arrangements, including part-time options and job shares, to accommodate individual needs.
As a Disability Confident employer, we ensure that disabled applicants who meet the essential criteria are offered interviews.
