Role Objective:

The Site Construction Supervisor will be responsible for leading and managing a dedicated team on-site to execute the primary civil engineering works, which include substantial reinforced concrete structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishes performance standards and benchmarks for the team.
  • Identifies potential quality issues prior to commencement of work and implements necessary changes to ensure quality delivery.
  • Utilizes extensive knowledge of quality assurance processes, effectively communicating these within the project to meet quality objectives.
  • Plans work sequences appropriately and applies protective measures to safeguard completed works, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
  • Facilitates client inspections and oversees the handover process.
  • Drafts, reviews, and approves quality documentation.
  • Promotes a culture of continuous improvement and shares insights gained across projects. Monitors productivity and cost trends, taking proactive measures to secure successful project outcomes.
  • Develops and executes the project completion strategy, ensuring all tasks are meticulously planned.
  • Tracks progress to meet handover deadlines, ensuring satisfaction for clients and stakeholders.
  • Manages the direct workforce effectively.

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

Technical Skills:

  • Proven experience in direct project delivery, with a minimum of 3 years managing a workforce of over 80 operatives in a direct delivery environment.
  • At least 3 years of experience in heavy reinforced concrete construction.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver projects safely and to the highest quality standards.
  • Background in carpentry, formwork, or reinforcement fixing.
  • Comprehensive understanding of reinforcement details and fixing techniques.
  • Familiarity with common formwork and falsework systems used in the industry.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Respects team members across all functions, fostering a unified approach.
  • Maintains a professional demeanor and promotes project values.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to established processes.
  • Aims to minimize waste in resources and materials.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Degree or qualifications in Construction Management.
  • SMSTS certification.
