Position Title: Lead Mechanical Commissioning Engineer
Location: Barrow-In-Furness
Compensation: Up to £42,000 based on experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and direct testing and commissioning operations, ensuring task coordination and conflict resolution.
- Ensure safe operation of plant systems while maintaining awareness of operational status and potential impacts of activities.
- Engage in personal development and fulfill mandatory training obligations.
- Perform routine tasks with minimal oversight, demonstrating an understanding of safety implications in high-risk settings.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to guarantee that operations are conducted safely and in compliance with regulations.
- Conduct research, review, and provide feedback on necessary documentation to meet required standards.
- Act as a representative for the organization during contractor sea trials and other operational requirements.
- Deliver assigned tasks in accordance with company policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of work activities as mandated by company policy.
- Guide and mentor junior team members, sharing expertise and knowledge.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in commissioning or maintaining mechanical systems within a highly regulated sector (e.g., Oil, Gas, or Nuclear).
- Ability to work with precision, documenting and analyzing results effectively.
- Familiarity with testing equipment and the specific activities required for various tests.
- Understanding of the commissioning role and its contribution to broader business objectives and national interests.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in high-risk environments.
- Experience with high-pressure systems.
- Capability to interpret complex mechanical systems, including drawings, diagrams, and procedures.
- Awareness of Nuclear Site/Authorization Conditions.
