Financial Operations Manager

The Senior Finance Academy Officer role is a newly created position within Durrington Multi Academy Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to the financial management of our schools.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Trust's Finance Director and have the opportunity to shape the role. The job is wide-ranging and varied, involving supporting senior leaders, schools, and the trust to manage budgets, secure best value, identify cost savings, and explore opportunities.
Key Responsibilities- Financial Planning and Management
- Develop and manage school budgets in line with the Trust's financial policies.
- Monitor and report on budgetary performance, ensuring financial health and sustainability.
- Identify potential sources of additional income or funding opportunities.
- Financial Guidance and Support
- Provide financial guidance to staff.
- Work closely with the Trust central team.
- Produce accurate and timely reports.
- Compliance and Governance
- Ensure compliance with employment law, safeguarding, and GDPR regulations.
- Maintain accurate staff records in relation to contracts and payroll.
- Ensure compliance with Trust financial policy and that best value is always achieved.
- External Relations
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders on matters related to academy trust finances and operations.
- Stay updated on changes in educational finance regulations and best practice.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, with a deep understanding of compliance, accuracy, and data interpretation. They will be able to work under pressure, manage time and task priorities, and demonstrate robustness and resilience. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to produce reports within tight timeframes are essential. The candidate will also be punctual, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
