About the Role:
The Martin Group of Companies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Operations Manager to join our team at our Lenton Household Waste and Recycling Centre. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient running of the day-to-day site operations, ensuring that all activities are carried out in accordance with site permit conditions and company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Control and coordinate the safe and efficient day-to-day operations of the recycling centre, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company standards.
- Induct and train new employees, temporary workers, and visitors, ensuring they are aware of site procedures and protocols.
- Monitor and ensure that all team members complete their allocated tasks to the required standards, within the contract and expected by the company.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the contract management team, including raising concerns where standards are not being met and being responsive to operational needs.
- Conduct daily site checks and report any issues promptly, ensuring that all machine operators undertake and report plant defect checks prior to operating mobile plant.
- Operate heavy plant equipment, such as excavators, as required, and participate in training programs to maintain and improve skills.
- Undertake housekeeping duties to ensure the site and offices are clean and tidy, in accordance with site requirements.
- Sort and process waste to extract recyclables, maintaining their quality and adhering to company standards.
- Cultivate and maintain effective working relationships with management, colleagues, and site users, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
- Possess a COTC qualification or be willing to undergo training, and have experience with heavy plant equipment, although training can be provided.
