About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical/Contracts Manager who is a self-starter, well-organized, with strong management skills, able to anticipate issues, and develop appropriate contingency measures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Control all aspects of selected projects, including planning, budgeting, and scheduling, from conception to completion.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate with design and engineering teams to ensure that all projects meet client specifications and are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Project Monitoring: Employ Leo Lynch systems to track and monitor project progress, ensuring that all project team members are compliant with these systems.
  • Team Management: Ensure that all disciplines of the project team are working effectively, and the ability to resolve issues in each department as they arise (BIM/Engineering/QA/Procurement).
  • Site Visits: Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor project progress, identify and resolve issues, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Client Relationships: Establish and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, and negotiate contracts and agreements as needed.
  • Financial Management: Manage the financial aspects of each project, including cost control, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all work complies with relevant legislation, codes, and standards, including health and safety regulations.
  • Budget Control: Ensure structures are put in place to monitor, review, and control the budgeted or agreed expenditure.
  • Commercial Reporting: Implement cost and value procedures and ensure that all necessary commercial reports are produced accurately and in a timely fashion to Senior Management.
  • Strategic Support: Work closely with the Directors and Site Managers to support and recommend strategies, to identify any potential risks or issues, and to find an appropriate resolution.
  • Reporting: Issue weekly progress reports to the client and engineering manager, and monthly progress reports for Senior Management/Directors.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with Senior Management/Directors to continue to achieve business needs.
  • Partnerships: Foster productive, collaborative partnerships with internal and external clients.

Candidate Requirements:

  • A mechanical background with a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Project/Contracts Manager in the Mechanical HVAC industry with a background as a project engineer for 5+ years.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical, HVAC, and Process systems, including their design, installation, and operation.
  • Excellent project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work well under pressure.
  • Must be able to travel within Europe on occasion.
  • A full driving license.
