Job Title: Facility Electrical Engineer - Site Operations

Position Overview: We are looking for a proficient and certified Electrical Engineer to become part of our Site Operations team. The selected individual will be tasked with managing all electrical systems within the facility, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to UK electrical standards. Possession of UK electrical qualifications is a prerequisite for this position. The ideal candidate should have a background in electrical maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting within a facilities management context.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Electrical Maintenance and Repair:
  • Carry out regular inspections and maintenance of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, and electrical equipment, to proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Execute electrical repairs, replacements, and upgrades as needed to guarantee the safe and dependable operation of electrical infrastructure.
  • React swiftly to electrical emergencies and faults, diagnosing issues and applying effective solutions to minimize operational downtime.
Compliance and Regulation:
  • Ensure adherence to UK electrical regulations, standards, and codes of practice in all maintenance activities.
  • Conduct regular testing and inspection of electrical systems to confirm their safety, integrity, and performance, maintaining precise records of test results and compliance documentation.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and industry best practices in electrical engineering, implementing necessary updates to maintain compliance.
Technical Expertise:
  • Offer technical support and guidance to maintenance personnel and contractors regarding electrical systems and equipment, including troubleshooting complex issues.
  • Work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines to effectively integrate electrical systems with other building infrastructures.
  • Review electrical design specifications, drawings, and proposals for new installations or upgrades, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and project goals.
Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain thorough records of electrical maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, test results, and equipment documentation.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on electrical maintenance activities, detailing work completed, encountered issues, and recommendations for enhancements.
  • Collaborate with the facilities management team to develop budgets, forecasts, and expenditure reports related to electrical maintenance operations.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of UK electrical qualifications is essential, such as City & Guilds 2365 Diploma in Electrical Installations, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, etc.
  • Experience in electrical maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting within a facilities management or similar setting.
  • Strong understanding of UK electrical regulations, standards, and codes of practice.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to diagnose and resolve intricate electrical issues effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • 2391 Inspection and testing qualification is preferred.
