Reporting To:

WORK ARRANGEMENT:

Hybrid Model:

2-3 days in the office.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Oversee the examination of UK VAT compliance, including the preparation of quarterly VAT submissions, ensuring full accountability for the review process and timely submission to the tax authorities.

- Manage the assessment of VAT balance sheet accounts, ensuring discrepancies are thoroughly investigated and necessary accounting actions are executed.

- Supervise the evaluation of VAT journal entries.

- Address VAT inquiries from various departments within the organization.

- Conduct reviews of contracts.

- Lead VAT-related projects and initiatives within the business.

- Prepare correspondence for tax authorities regarding VAT matters.

- Handle and resolve inquiries from tax authorities.

- Identify and implement enhancements to existing processes.

- Provide assistance to the Head of Tax in advising the organization on the VAT implications of new business initiatives.



QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

Essential:

  • Qualified professional (CTA/ACA or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in VAT compliance
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong analytical capabilities
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Solid accounting knowledge
  • Proactive and self-driven
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Enthusiastic and motivated

Desirable:

  • Knowledge and experience in employment tax
  • Understanding of corporation tax
