Mechanical / Electrical Inspector - Machine Inspection
Randstad Tech IT is currently recruiting for a Mechanical / Electrical Inspector to join our team in the Inspection Department.
This is a permanent position paying up to £34,000 per annum with over shift allowances included.
The role requires the candidate to work abroad in Europe carrying out customer visits 4-5 times a year, these visits would typically be around 2 to 4 weeks in length - a daily allowance for working abroad would be included for this.
The Role
The Front-Line Mechanical Inspector will be responsible for:
- Ensuring that machines are built to customer specifications as detailed within the Factory Order.
- Fault finding and diagnosing machine set-up and process issues.
- Carrying out tasks on the inspection checklist, problem solving and making mechanical and program adjustments where required.
- Working with the engineering & build team in the completion of any internal or customer non-conformances, to support a closed loop feedback and prevent reoccurrence.
- Overseeing the machine shipment as it leaves our plant.
- Producing the shipment list.
- Completing the inspection documentation and final report.
- Installing, testing and commissioning machines on customer sites, dealing with non-conformances during the re-build and commissioning phase.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspecting machines to ensure they meet customer specifications.
- Diagnosing and resolving machine set-up and process issues.
- Carrying out inspection tasks and making adjustments as required.
- Working with the engineering team to resolve non-conformances.
- Overseeing machine shipment and producing shipment lists.
- Completing inspection documentation and final reports.
- Installing, testing and commissioning machines on customer sites.
Requirements
- Suitably qualified to NVQ Level 3, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering or alternative required discipline.
- A relevant technical or engineering qualification in mechanical is desirable but full training will be given.
- A knowledge of grinding processes is highly desirable but full training will be given.
- A knowledge of machine tools is essential.
- Experienced in Soft PLC to iec61131.
- Understanding of Field Bus Profinet, Profibus.
- A willingness and ability to travel for the service/aftermarket departments when required.
- Ability to be flexible in working time; on occasion there will be a requirement to work different shifts and overtime.
