Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our team at Investec Capital Solutions. As a key member of our finance department, you'll be responsible for various aspects of management and financial accounting tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with the Operations Team to ensure timely and effective reconciliations of Invoice Discounting Receivables books and Loans book movement.
  • Perform bank reconciliations across multiple currencies.
  • Assist with month-end activities, including journal entries, prepayments, and accruals.
  • Take ownership of Accounts Payable activities.
  • Liaise with counterparties regarding intercompany transactions.
  • Reconcile balance sheets with relevant commentary and produce schedules as required.
  • Partner with Operations, Sales, ICS Management, and other teams to drive business performance.
  • Prepare various reports and analysis for the business, addressing any follow-up queries.
  • Produce quarterly VAT returns and related reporting.
  • Support the preparation of external financial audits.
  • Contribute to the production of statutory accounts.
  • Assist with external reporting to the British Business Bank.
  • Develop an annual budget reflecting expected growth in income and costs, liaising with the business as necessary.
  • Participate in various projects undertaken by the ICS Finance department.
  • Perform other ad-hoc tasks as requested.

Requirements

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and take ownership of tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Team player with a can-do attitude and integrity.

Desirable Attributes

  • Understanding of Invoice Finance and Asset-Based Lending.
  • Knowledge of HPD systems (Aquarius/AURA), JD Edwards/Hyperion/Essbase.
