NRG is excited to partner with a prominent Utility organization in their quest for a Cloud Solutions Architect. This is a pivotal moment to join our client as they expand their core infrastructure capabilities.

Role Summary:

As a key member of the team, you will collaborate with the Infrastructure Team Lead to support cloud technologies and oversee project execution alongside both internal and external support partners across diverse technologies.

Your main responsibility will be to deliver cloud services for the organization’s network and server environments while efficiently addressing incidents and requests in line with service level agreements. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills and experience in designing and implementing cloud-based solutions.

This position offers the opportunity to explore and implement innovative solutions for the organization, while also enhancing your technical expertise by working with and configuring complex products and technologies.

Our client is committed to fostering growth and advancement within the organization through various internal and external training initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional IT support and manage project delivery with efficiency.
  • Configure and deploy cloud services, third-party applications, and integrations.
  • Offer technical guidance on existing and proposed cloud services.
  • Engage in planning and scoping for highly available cloud solutions.
  • Support the Service Desk team with the management of existing cloud services and infrastructure as required.
  • Create and maintain essential technical documentation.
  • Adopt a DevOps culture and stay informed about the latest industry cloud advancements.

Qualifications:

  • Manage infrastructure and provide third-line support, resolving issues promptly and effectively.
  • Proficient in core AWS services, including EC2, Storage, IAM, SNS, Lambda, Databases, Route 53, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, API Gateways, and Systems Manager.
  • Experience in deploying infrastructure as code.
  • Oversee and maintain cloud infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Experience in deploying and managing code pipelines.
  • Ability to understand and manage AWS VPC network roles, including Transit Gateways, Direct Connect, VPNs, ACLs, NACLs, Peering, and Route Tables.
  • Knowledge of DevOps principles, including continuous delivery and continuous integration.
  • Experience in configuring and maintaining server operating systems.
  • Familiarity with AWS billing and management practices.
  • Experience in conducting root cause analysis to identify and resolve issues.
  • Exposure to infrastructure project delivery.
  • Understanding of high availability, backup technologies, RTO, and RPO.
  • Strong grasp of AWS security best practices.
  • Participation in an after-hours on-call rotation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of ITIL practices and change control processes.
  • Understanding of networking topologies, including switching, VLANs, routing, and remote access.
  • Familiarity with additional AWS services such as IoT, Machine Learning, auto-scaling, and containerization.
  • Experience with cloud automation tools like Chef, Puppet, Ansible, and JSON.
  • Experience with FortiGate routers and firewalls.
  • Relevant certifications, including:
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate Level
    • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate Level
    • AWS Certified Developer – Associate Level
    • ITIL certification.
