About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Housing Register Officer at North Devon District Council. As a key member of the Devon Home Choice Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and fair allocation of affordable housing in our coastal housing market area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess applications to the Devon Home Choice Register and for affordable ownership opportunities, ensuring compliance with policy and planning agreements.
- Undertake housing register management functions, including data analysis and reporting.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver our housing and council priorities.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers, services, and partners to ensure the successful delivery of our housing strategy.
Requirements:
- Minimum 4 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and Maths, or equivalent qualification/experience.
- Understanding of local authority housing allocation functions and policies.
- Sophisticated communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent the council and Devon Home Choice Partnership professionally.
- Ability to understand complex information and assess within a policy framework.
- Organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to work effectively in a small team to meet service deadlines.
- Good computer and keyboard literacy.
