Job Description

**Electrical/Electronic Engineer - Missile Systems Specialist**

We are seeking an experienced Electrical/Electronic Engineer to join our team as a Missile Systems Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for the electrical architecture and requirements for missiles and/or their associated launcher systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Specify and determine system electrical requirements, interface definitions, and characteristics between subsystems/equipment.
  • Develop power architecture, including power budget and power profiles, data communication and processing architecture, and requirements for EMC, bonding, grounding, and screening.
  • Support test and fault-finding activities during compatibility checks, risk reduction, system proving/qualification, and integration.
  • Review and author reports, guidelines, and processes.
  • Design assessments and analysis.
  • Work to defence/industry standards.
  • Attend and support design reviews.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Equipment Manager (RMO) for specific electrical/electronic equipment(s) that are part of a missile or launcher system.
  • Project manage the equipment(s) on behalf of the project during development, qualification, and manufacture.
  • Own the requirements on behalf of the project for the equipment(s).
  • Produce Statements of Work for the associated design authority for the equipment(s).
  • Create and update plans showing activities for the equipment(s).
  • Manage internal & external design authorities for delivery of the equipment(s) hardware, software, and deliverables to schedule, cost, quality, and performance.
  • Hold regular progress reviews with the design authority for the equipment(s).
  • Review qualification verification evidence.
  • Track and find resolution to equipment non-compliances.
  • Attend and support design reviews.

Requirements:

  • Proven ability in electrical/electronics, interface definitions, knowledge of defence/industry standards, systems engineering, and defence-related background.
  • Desirable skills include knowledge of weapon systems, power supplies, actuators, data communication, sensors, EMC, Health Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS), and Model Based Engineering (MBE).

Please note that due to the sensitive nature of the project involved, all applicants must be capable of gaining a UK MOD Security Clearance to SC level.
