The Role:
The primary objective of this position is to provide strategic oversight to the Engineering function at KP Ashby through effective leadership and alignment with KP's Intersnack Work System (IWS). The IWS methodology emphasizes continuous improvement and standardized operations, with the Engineering Manager guiding the site through the Engineering (Progressive Maintenance) and Project (Initiative Management) pillars of IWS. Successful execution of the site's capital program is essential, requiring collaboration with the Central Project Team and other departmental teams as necessary. This role is also a key component of the site Leadership Team, assisting the General Manager in making critical strategic decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory regulations is maintained and documented for the site.
- Lead the PM and IM Pillars at the site, developing master and 90-day plans to address operational losses and enhance capabilities.
- Maximize the availability of mechanical and electrical equipment through continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing equipment efficiency and reducing costs.
- Oversee capital investment projects (both new and ongoing), collaborating with site and central teams to ensure projects are executed safely, on quality, on time, and within budget.
- Design and manage engineering budgets for both capital and operational expenditures.
- Ensure that adequate resources, equipment, and personnel are available to meet operational demands.
- Develop an annual engineering strategy aligned with the site’s CBN and KP strategy wheel.

Key Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Extensive experience as a Site Engineering Manager
- Experience in the food industry
- Proven project management experience with large-scale capital projects
- Knowledge of PPM strategy, improvement techniques, and tools
- Strong mechanical or electrical engineering background – degree level / Chartered Engineer status
- FMCG background – preferably with maintenance and project experience
