Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will deliver nutritional care to acute inpatient units within our organization. The role will primarily be based at designated hospitals but may require occasional coverage in other local facilities. Responsibilities may include participation in general nutrition clinics, telehealth consultations, and various acute ward duties. Our team engages in competency development to support extended practice in enteral nutrition.

This position will also involve rotation into specialized areas such as bariatric nutrition and care for frail patients.

Job Duties

The post holder will manage their own caseload, receiving referrals from various healthcare professionals. Patients will be seen in diverse environments, including hospital wards and outpatient settings. Collaboration with fellow nutrition specialists and the broader multidisciplinary team is crucial.

Our department also plays a vital role in the education of dietetic students, and the post holder will actively participate in training, planning, and assessment.

The Nutrition and Dietetic service is organized into specialized teams, covering areas such as secondary care, bariatrics, primary care, and pediatric nutrition. Our team consists of numerous professionals dedicated to providing high-quality care across various settings.

Essential Qualifications

  • Current registration as a Dietitian with the relevant professional body.
  • Degree or postgraduate diploma in Dietetics.
  • Proficiency in IT applications, including word processing and spreadsheet software.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience with electronic patient record systems.
  • Membership in a professional dietetic association.
  • Experience in clinical audits and hospital environments.
