Position: Art & Design Visiting Moderator

Reference Code: VM/GCSE/A&D(NS)

The role of the Art & Design Visiting Moderator involves engaging with educational institutions to oversee the moderation of various forms of student work that have been initially evaluated by teacher examiners within those institutions. Each moderator is assigned a specific number of samples from the centres for review.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct moderation of components of the subject examination, including coursework, projects, and special studies, which have been assessed by teachers at the centres before being forwarded for moderation. This process typically includes sampling methods.
  • When required, perform direct assessments of school-based components in instances where centres choose not to conduct initial evaluations.
  • Complete and submit detailed reports for each centre to the Team Leader or Principal Moderator as necessary.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification is essential.
  • Must be a qualified educator.
  • Demonstrated teaching experience within the UK in the relevant subject area is required.

Essential Competencies:

  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter to effectively apply the marking criteria.
  • Ability to perform efficiently under pressure and adhere to deadlines.
  • Proficient in IT skills.
