Job Title: AWS Lead Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Lead Engineer to lead our Geospatial Engineering team in the specification, development, and delivery of large complex solutions. As a key member of our team, you will support the delivery of GIS Software Services and provide 3rd line support and enhancements for industry-leading COTS products.

Responsibilities:
  1. Act as a Geospatial SME, leading work as part of an Agile team to design and deliver geospatial solutions.
  2. Build strong relationships with technical and business stakeholders to ensure delivery in accordance with company standards of conduct.
  3. Provide governance through the creation of technical documentation and ensure timely delivery and solution quality.
  4. Support and work alongside others within the project team to ensure the successful delivery of geospatial solutions.
Requirements:
  1. Proven experience in designing and delivering geospatial solutions, following agreed standards and tools.
  2. In-depth knowledge of Geospatial concepts, providing subject matter expertise within a team or project.
  3. In-depth experience of deploying and supporting enterprise GIS Systems, preferably Esri ArcGIS Enterprise.
  4. Understanding of Data Management principles to ensure best use of organisation and visualisation of mapping services.
  5. Experience of using cloud infrastructure within AWS - Automated deployments (IaaC, Serverless).
  6. Desirable - Knowledge and application of one of the following programming languages: Python, JavaScript, Java.
About the Team:

Our team is highly skilled with a huge range of process and technical knowledge. We are a diverse team from a variety of technical backgrounds, passionate about delivering quality systems to our clients' customers. We are collaborative both within the Geospatial Engineering team as well as across all the engineering functions and programmes.

Some UK travel is required to attend team and customer meetings. You will need to be able to commute to and from Cheltenham.
