Gleeson Recruitment Group is seeking a seasoned Operations Manager to join our team in the Production Area of a thriving Manufacturing business. This is an exceptional opportunity for a Process Driven Operations Professional to drive growth and expansion.
Location: Walsall
Duties:
- Process Excellence: Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Regulatory Approvals (RAs) for Bar Production are current, accessible, and effectively maintained. Develop and implement a training matrix to identify knowledge gaps and concerns. Participate in PUWER assessments, manage statutory compliance inspections, and contribute to Health and Safety (H&S) communications and culture.
- Operational Support: Provide mutual holiday cover with the Toll point Operations Manager. Support investment programs for H&S and productivity. Address staff welfare and identify training needs.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate to implement systems that track machine downtime and servicing costs, using the data to recommend productivity and reliability improvements.
- Customer Focus: Treat Sales as the customer, maintain a real-time production programme, and communicate delivery schedules. Manage PRDs, investigate NCRs, and ensure adherence to processes and procedures.
- Improvement Initiatives: Identify and execute improvement initiatives. Engage the team, measure performance, and report progress to Senior Management.
- Communication and Development: Communicate business goals, provide performance feedback, and foster a two-way communication culture. Develop multi-skilled operators through targeted training.
- Quality Management: Understand and apply OSSL's Quality Management System. Address quality issues, manage documentation, and ensure compliance with updated processes.
- Operational Efficiency: Maximize the use of Steel Manager, ensure documentation accuracy, and align operational processes with best practices.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with H&S and Quality procedures, manage inductions, PPE provision, disciplinary actions, and absenteeism. Promote a safe working environment.
- Performance and Development: Regularly assess and improve your performance, enhance communication skills, develop KPIs, and build relationships with stakeholders.
