Position Summary

The Middle Office team at Charles River Development is seeking a seasoned Business Analyst who will play a pivotal role in collaborating with clients and development teams to devise solutions that enhance client satisfaction, expand product functionalities, and strengthen the strategic positioning of the CRD Investment Management System. The Senior Business Analyst will become an authority on Charles River products, ensuring that our software effectively supports end users in their middle office operations. This role will primarily focus on investment accounting solutions, engaging in the complete software development lifecycle and contributing as an integral member of a product development team centered on specific features. A solid understanding of both financial and technical principles is essential, along with a proven ability to meet project requirements promptly.

Key Responsibilities

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of business requirements and workflows to facilitate product development.
  • Conduct research and create comprehensive business and technical requirement documents.
  • Collaborate directly with clients and the product management team to gather product requirements and formulate feature specifications, participating in all phases of the software product lifecycle.
  • Work alongside development teams to help design, implement, and enhance features.
  • Organize and schedule validation tasks; conduct hands-on manual testing; develop verification plans and processes.
  • Provide insights on product performance.
  • Review documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Support client beta testing and train personnel on new product capabilities.
  • Assist in managing project timelines and deliverables.
  • Support implementation and address escalated client issues.
  • Actively engage in the Agile software development process by adhering to the CRD Scrum Methodology, including participation in daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
  • Participate in group testing activities as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Over 6 years of experience in the software development lifecycle, with a preference for Agile methodologies.
  • Extensive experience in middle office investment management and investment accounting functions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation abilities.
  • Advanced writing skills, with the capacity to summarize complex information effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to reconcile conflicting data.
  • Capability to translate client business needs into application requirements.
  • Solid technical background.
  • Proven planning and scheduling abilities.
  • A keen interest in financial markets and trading.
  • Demonstrated ability to convert business requirements into detailed functional and technical product specification documents.
  • Familiarity with one or more CRD functional financial areas is highly desirable.
  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Business with an MIS focus. A Master's or MBA degree is strongly preferred.
