Job Title: Library Supervisor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Library Supervisor to join our team at Bristol City Council. As a Library Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising a team of library assistants working across 2 to 3 branch libraries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the day-to-day running of the libraries to ensure the highest level of customer service.
  • Assist the public to gain maximum benefit from the libraries and their facilities.
  • Respond to requests and enquiries or complaints from the public and communities as appropriate.
  • Motivate the team and manage their performance to ensure delivery of Library Service objectives.
  • Carry out administrative duties, including cash handling, banking, and maintaining financial and human resource records as required.
  • Develop, maintain and promote library stock to ensure it meets the highest standard of quality and increase usage.

Requirements:

We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic person who enjoys working with the public and has excellent communication and ICT skills, and a strong commitment to customer care.
