Taylor Higson, a leader in the printing industry for over three decades, specializes in various print solutions including commercial, digital, and packaging services.
We are seeking a skilled Pre-Press/Reprographics Technician to manage CTP operations, load printing plates, and create impositions using XMF software. While experience with XMF is not mandatory, a willingness to learn is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- CTP Plate Production: Operate and maintain CTP systems to produce high-quality printing plates for diverse commercial print projects.
- Imposition Layout: Develop and optimize imposition layouts to maximize material efficiency and ensure precise alignment for printing.
- Plate Mounting: Accurately mount plates on the platemaker, ensuring correct positioning and secure attachment for optimal printing results.
- File Preparation: Adjust and process digital files to comply with technical specifications for impositions and plate production.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough quality checks on impositions, plates, and mounted plates to guarantee accuracy, consistency, and compliance with client requirements.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CTP equipment and platemakers to reduce downtime and ensure peak operational performance.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with prepress, design, and print production teams to facilitate a smooth workflow and timely project delivery.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of production activities, including imposition layouts, plate outputs, and equipment maintenance logs.
Candidate Profile:
- Familiarity with commercial printing impositions.
- Prior experience operating CTP systems or a strong willingness to learn.
- Experience with Fujifilm XMF is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Dependable and reliable.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Flexibility to assist with overtime as needed.
Compensation & Benefits:
The salary for this position is competitive, reaching up to £30,000 based on experience. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM. Employees will enjoy 20 days of holiday plus bank holidays, a pension scheme, ongoing support and development opportunities, and additional benefits.
