Head of Paediatric Nursing

The Deputy Matron will act as a lead nurse for the paediatric ward, utilising expert decision-making and clinical judgement to uphold professional standards and support the team in delivering a high-quality responsive service to children and their families.
Key Responsibilities:- Leadership and Management: Manage the ward/department, Team Leader, and clinical nurse specialists in assessing the clinical skills required to deliver a safe and quality service.
- Quality Improvement: Provide strong leadership to their teams and ensure senior clinical presence on the ward/unit, driving up high-quality clinical care through quality improvement initiatives.
- Change Management: Act as a change agent and innovator, promoting an effective change culture within nursing teams.
- Financial Management: Work with the Matron in the financial management of the service, being aware of budgets and working within them.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse (Child) (essential)
- Teaching/assessing qualification (essential)
- Evidence of significant clinical experience in medical area and ability to function at level required (essential)
- Knowledge of NMC Codes and guidelines and their implications for practice
- Management qualification or working towards obtaining one
